Earth Day Festival 2019 – Saturday April 06, 2019 

Event is 11:00-4:00

Greetings Coordinators and Volunteers!

The Sierra Club and Vail Headquarters welcomes you, and appreciates your support….YOU help make it happen!

**The hours we need volunteer support are from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Shifts during event:  Entire duration of event, or work in a shift 9:00 until 1:00 or 1:00 until 5:00.  Check in at the Sierra Club Booth when you arrive.

9:00 a.m. – Set-up:  Pop-Ups, tables, chairs, Environmental game area, craft area, plant nursery, recycling bins, etc.

10:00 a.m. – Get coached on how to run the games, craft, Sierra Club booth, raffle and passport activity, greeting guests and speakers and showing them to requested location on property, and other jobs, to be determined by Sierra Club and Event Coordinators

11:00 a.m. – Event begins:  Volunteers proceed to their designated stations

12:00 p.m. – Coordinators to rotate volunteers, and train incoming person to the job they are filling,  so that “all-day” volunteers can take a rest break, have a quick lunch, and visit the vendors, exhibitors, and speakers.  “Half-day” volunteers will also be given personal comfort breaks

1:00-4:00 – Coordinators continue to rotate volunteers, so they can benefit by learning new skills and information

4:00-5:00 – Break-down:  Help fold tables, chairs and pop-ups, pack up game area, clean up craft area, assist in plant nursery, and pick up trash (of which there shouldn’t be any because it’s Earth Day, right?!)

Please bring any paperwork required to document your hours, and to be signed by Sierra Club.  Also bring your own refillable drinking-water bottle, and personal comfort items such as, sunscreen, hat, folding chair, snacks, sack lunch, etc.  Food and beverages are also available for purchase at various businesses on site.

I will have an area set up in the shade across from the garden, where volunteers can keep their personal belongings, and take breaks.  Volunteers are kindly asked to remain at Vail Headquarters until they are picked up by their adult.
